Pembroke Power Station

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of the UK’s largest gas-fired power station. RWE npower is the generation arm of a leading integrated energy company. Our mixed fuel portfolio of power stations currently supplies 10,000 MW nationwide, and we are growing. Pembroke alone will supply an additional 2,000 MW. You will play a major role in the mobilisation, construction, commissioning and ultimate success of this state-of-the-art power station.

As a key member of the Maintenance support group, you’ll provide general planning and engineering support to operational and maintenance teams and contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance and engineering policy and strategy. This will include HRSG, gas and steam turbine and balance of plant technology, responsibility for outage management and the delivery of the highest standards of commercial plant responsibility, availability, and safe environmental performance. Initiating and managing a range of short and medium term maintenance strategies and programmes, you’ll also be the Technical Officer responsible for safety, technical, environmental and commercial management of maintenance contracts, and have input into the station’s business planning process.

Qualified to at least HNC (or equivalent) in a mechanical engineering discipline, you are highly motivated, well organised and commercially aware. If you are not a member of an appropriate professional institution, you should be taking active steps to secure membership. A skilled leader, you are competent in all aspects of contract management, contractor supervision, project management and planning. You must also be skilled in the use of IT systems, including planning software. The ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, is essential.
